I had very strict plans for my word count this week. I wanted to get over 20,000 words (I was less than one hundred away so this wasn’t actually much of a goal) and I wanted to write more than I did last time.

Guess what?

I smashed it! πŸ˜€

Just about, but I smashed it. This week I’ve written 5690 words, which brings the total count to 25,625. My new goal for next week is to surpass the 30,000 mark. By the time we go on holiday I’d love to have 45,000 but I don’t know how doable that will be. It’s something to aspire to if nothing else.

I’ve gotten to a point in my story now where it’s very hard to stop writing. The plot is thickening, the first answers are about to be provided, and it’s getting very exciting! I might publish the first (unedited) chapter before we go away for two weeks, as a teaser and to offer some new information on my book.

Oh, also… If I write ‘Rose of the Sparrows’ rather than ‘Rise of the Sparrows’ one more time I will rename this book.

Have a wonderful weekend,
