It’s time for the first one of the new regular Monday Morning posts! I loved doing the 10-Minute shorts, but it was time for a change and these are so much fun, you guys. So. Much. Fun!
Here’s a brief reminder of what’s to come-
Every Monday I’ll post one of the prompts from this book. I’ll post the prompt itself, too, so if you want to borrow it and have a go yourself, go on ahead! If you could also link back here so I can have a look at your interpretation, even better 🙂
The prompts will vary in length since some give you a whole page and others only give you half of one, or only a quarter. This first one only gave me a fourth of a page, so it’s a short one.
Now, let’s get started! This is prompt #1, enjoy 🙂
What can happen in a second
I suddenly regretted my whole life. The future I had carved for myself, my children, my entire family and my goals – it had all been a mistake. And it had taken a gun, fired, pointed at my head, for me to realise just how wrong I’d been.
I still had my old contacts. Maybe, if I somehow got out of this alive, I’d get in touch with John. I’d be twenty-eight years late, but better late than never, right?
I closed my eyes for the last moments, and waited. The trigger clicked, but nothing happened. The gun didn’t fire. Hysterical, I laughed. I’d been given a second chance and I wouldn’t get this close to dying with regrets again. For now I had a divorce to file and calls to make.
