It’s been an emotional week, you guys! Let me start with the best part-
On Wednesday I saw the proofs for my book’s cover. I’ve picked my favourite, and the finishing touches (the spine, the back, and such) will be applied today and next week. Which means that I’ve got one hell of a cover reveal for you!!
It really is. He’s not exaggerating, trust me.
What? How much have I stared at it since I’ve first seen it? Well.
Let’s not go into that.
Anyway, the cover reveal isn’t happening today (sorry, was I misleading?) but it will very likely happen next week, so look out for it! You want to see it. You really do.
Besides procrastinating by staring adoringly at my book’s cover I’ve fixed a huge issue I had with formatting my book for CreateSpace. I’m beyond relieved that I’ve got it fixed, because now I can really power ahead!
The edit has been going well, too, and we’re making very good progress. Thanks to my betas, who really went to town on it, there isn’t much more to do now. (THANK YOU!!)
This may not be the best time for me to do NaNo but I’m a fifth of the way there, which is something 🙂 Formatting does take up a considerable amount of time, so I haven’t had as much time to write as I would have liked BUT I do have an excerpt for you!
It’s from Immortals (temp. title) because I haven’t had the time to come up with nicknames for my sequel’s characters yet. They’ll all be gender neutral when I get around to it, so happy guessing 😉
Here ya go:
I put up my feet on the desk just in time for them to come bursting in.
There were five of them, two inside the room and another three behind them. No doubt the man in charge was either behind them around the corner, or hidden away somewhere else entirely where he could watch on a screen.
“I expected more,” I said, swinging back and forth in the chair a little. “Don’t you boys know who you’ve been hired to kill?” I hated playing it like this, but I hated killing even more. These men didn’t look like they knew what they were doing.
I had a reputation in just about every solar system in this galaxy. When someone wanted me dead, they knew they had to do it properly. Sending five boys in suits was the very opposite.
If there was a way for them to live, I preferred it.
Five guns were aimed at my head. Two lasers danced just over my eyebrows.
