BACK TO NORMALITY! 😀
As amazing and wonderful as the last two weeks have been – a HUGE thank you to everyone who’s shouted my book’s title from the rooftops! – I’m ready for a routine to return to Cookie Break. I’m sure after two weeks of nothing but shameless book promotion and reblogs, you are ready for it, too! ^^
I feel like I’ve been doing this a lot in the previous prompts, but once again I’ve used one to explore an idea I’ve had recently. It took a different direction from what I had expected, and I might have to play around with this a little more…
But onwards to the prompt! As always, if it speaks to you feel free to borrow it. I only ask that you link back here if you do so I can read your interpretation 🙂
Happy writing!
***
What is the sound of silence, and when did you last hear it? What was missing?
The doors opened first, and they brought the silence. The fear. The magic.
I was in town when our door opened, and I caught a brief glimpse of what was waiting on the other side. I’ll never forget the horror, no matter how much I want to. It was surreal – magical in a dark, twisted sense – and viciously deadly.
If you imagine someone’s front door opening, you have the wrong idea. Instead, picture this: One empty arch in every capital in this world. They’ve been here forever and never did anything, until Silent Day. Portals opened within the arches, and for the eternity only a few uncertain seconds can bring all sound was sucked from this world. Everything darkened.
I thought it would never be light again.
And in those eternal few seconds, magic poured over the people like a deadly virus.

Thank you so much, Faith! I had an inkling you’d like it ^-^
It really is. I had a lot of fun during release week and the week before that, but I can’t tell you how happy I am to have my routine back 🙂 A lot has happened since the last progress update, too, so I’ve got much to report this Friday 😉
