A Writer's Musings

I haven’t posted many discussions previously, so I’m excited to see how this one will go!

I love social media, and really enjoy using my writer accounts across Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest, but I feel like I’m missing something with Facebook. I know I’m not using it to its full potential, and truth be told, most days I forget to post to my page. There are several things, like my blog posts, which can’t be set up to post to my page automatically, and so it’s often left out. Add to this that using Facebook to its full professional potential seems to involve money, and I’m not sure that it’s necessary for me. Not when there are plenty of free sites out there, which do exactly what I want!

I’ve been wanting to join groups to join their discussions, or set up automatic posting from here or my Instagram account, but I can’t do any of those things with my author page – only with my account, which I don’t use. I set up the account specifically for the sake of creating my author page, and so the account has collected dust.

If you’re a writer, how do you use Facebook professionally?Β Is it possible to get the most out of it without additional charge? Is it worthwhile to use my account rather than just my page?Β I feel like I’m missing something and have considered deleting my page, because I keep forgetting to post over there and because there are so many other social media sites around, which feel better suited to me.
