What I’m currently reading

Witch Infernal

I know I said I wouldn’t buy more books until I finished my tbr pile, but I was weak and bought this one ❤ I couldn’t resist – after the first two books in this series I wasn’t prepared to wait! I tried, and couldn’t do it.

I’m flying through Witch Infernal. I love seeing Evie’s more vulnerable side, and especially love how her relationship with Lysander is developing.

The way I’ve been getting through this I expect I’ll be done with this quite soon, possibly even by the time this post publishes.

The city’s been quiet since Evie and her friends closed the hellmouth. The lycans and Sidhe are on their best behaviour, the witches haven’t been heard from, and Evie should be enjoying the break.

The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms

I’ve been meaning to read this for a while and have high expectations now that I’m getting around to it. Sadly, it’s really hard to tear myself away from Witch Infernal, so this isn’t getting the attention I want to give it. The only thing I can really say about this one so far is that it’s got a lot of info to take in, that it feels like it’s going to be a slow read, and that it’s a fantastic example of excellent world building.

What I recently finished reading

This Savage Song

I loved this so, so much! I wasn’t sure how I would take to it since ADSoM and AGoS were a little meh for me, but I enjoyed this so much more! I feel bad for constantly comparing the two (mostly as in “I liked this a lot more!”) but I can’t help myself.

I loved the characters and the world, and will be writing up my full review soon. Expect a lot of gushing.

I, Robot

Since this was my first sci-fi read I went in with no expectations. It was a great introduction to the genre for me, and definitely won’t be my last sci-fi book. It’s easy to see why Asimov is considered one of the masters of sci-fi, and I’m looking forward to reading his other books I already have waiting on my shelf.

What I think I’ll read next

I have no idea. I’m preparing this post quite far in advance since I’m off work the day this post publishes, so I won’t get a chance to do it right before as I usually do. There are a few books that tempt me but I’m not even that far into Witch Infernal yet (as I’m writing this, not as you’re reading this – don’t be surprised if I’ve finished it by now) – I know anything I’d say now would change by the time I pick my next read. Might as well wait 🙂
