I’ve been tagged by the lovely Holly a little while ago, and thought why not take part? I don’t usually do the memes or tags people ask me to because there are too many, I’d spam you, and because a lot of them are either a little too off-topic or I can’t contribute properly.

It’s been a while since I’ve last done a post like this one. If you want to find out a little more about the writer behind the blog, keep reading! πŸ™‚ I’ll try to make it interesting ^^

One. What’s your biggest fear?

I’ve actually thought about this a lot recently. It always surprises me how quickly this year has gone by so far, or how quickly the past year has turned into 2016. I turned 26 this year and I was a little awed for a moment that I had made it this far. I was in a dark place ten years ago and don’t think I would have believed then where I am now. Then it occurred to me that I’ve moved here nearly eight years. Eight. Years! Ago.

say what

It’s made me realise that time passes impossibly fast, whether we want it to or not. I’m scared that suddenly I’ll be eighty, and I won’t have spend enough time with the people I love and too much time focusing on the wrong things. My relationship with someone I’m supposed to be closed to is more than a bit shaky, because they spend more time working than with family. I’m scared my priorities won’t be in the right place, and I won’t realise until it’s too late that I’ve been chasing the wrong goals my whole life – thinking that I was headed the right way.

Two. What’s your happiest memory?

I’m fortunate to have had many happy memories, but if I had to pick just the one I’d chose the day I moved in with my partner in April 2008. We’re both from different countries and met online, so I know first-hand how hard long distance relationships can be. It felt incredible and too good to be true to know that we didn’t have to take a plane to see each other any more, but could simply wake up next to each other and fall asleep next to each other. I moved to him and the flat was small but I loved the little space and have very fond memories.

Three. What’s your five year plan?

I never used to have five year plans! You can’t possible plan for everything, and while I’m organised I never organised my life to this extend. I do have a five year plan now, but it doesn’t involve much. Honestly, I’m reluctant to call it a plan.

I want to publish the Relics of Ar’Zac trilogy (starting with Rise of the Sparrows this May!) as well as a prequel, and I’ve just started writing a whole new book which I want to publish. Besides that, I might go back to university to study Visual Communications, but I’m still very much on the fence about that one.

See? It’s hardly a plan at all!

Four. What’s your favourite non-sexual intimate contact?

I love having the back of my neck, or my back, touched. But I don’t allow everyone to get anywhere near enough to manage that, so if you’ve touched the back of my neck at any point know that you’re very dear to me πŸ™‚

I also love a cuddle. I’ve always been a cuddly person and that I now have a partner and a cat to match is perfect!

Five. What’s your dream date? Money’s no issue.

I really want to go to Japan… *sigh* Maybe one day.

Six. What’s your song?

I don’t think I have a song, but the entire Mass Effect Soundtrack moves me and destroys me in equal measure.

Seven. What’s the most amazing thing someone’s said about you?

I’ve been thinking about this one for a few days now and am a little sad that I can’t think of anything. OH, I KNOW!

I went to the doctor’s once to have my blood taken and tested, and the nurse who did it told me I have REALLY nice veins!

Eight. If you could have any possible superpower, what would you choose?

I think I’ve mentioned this before somewhere, but if I could have any superpower I would want to be able to bring my characters to life. Anyone I write, anything, and I could turn it into reality! Imagine the possibilities!

Nine. What’s your guilty pleasure film?

Gawd, these questions are harder than I thought! Does Mean Girls count as a guilty pleasure film? I love Mean Girls and its quotable beauty! ❀

MeanGirls

Ten. What’s your best physical feature?

I’ve been told it’s my hands. It counts if it’s my Grandma who said it, right? Personally I’d choose my eyes. When I was in High School we went to France one year for a week, and this girl I shared a host family with told me my eyes were creepy and she couldn’t sleep πŸ˜€

Eleven. If you could be remembered for one personality trait, what would you want that to be?

I’d probably be remembered for my severe empathy since I cry at just about everything, but I’d rather be remembered for being determined and not giving up. I’ve been through a lot of shit in my life but I’ve kept going and now here I am, publishing a book in two months! (to all those bullies from High School – SCREW YOU! HAHAHAHA!)

Boy, two months sounds awfully soon.

Twelve. What are your non-writing/book related hobbies?

I’m a gamer at heart, so when I’m not writing/editing/plotting/reading I’m normally playing a game. Probably Mass Effect. I’m trying to move on but it’s hard.

MassEffect

Thirteen. What does an ideal night out look like to you?

This is going to sound strange to a lot of you, but I don’t do clubbing. An ideal night out to me would be a meal out either just with my partner or with friends, followed by the cinema. Both of us love movies (how awesome was Deadpool??) and have gone for dinner followed by a movie (followed by a panicky cat who thought we forgot her feeding time) many times.

Fourteen. What’s the biggest risk you ever took? Did it pay off?

I don’t see this as a risk myself, because at the same it was the only logical thing for me to do and there weren’t really any other options as far as I was concerned, but I’ve been told so many times how brave I was for taking such a risk that I think it probably qualifies.

As I mentioned above my partner and I were in a long-distance relationship for a while after having met online in a chat room. We did meet in person before I moved in with him – I’m not stupid πŸ˜› My mind was pretty much made up that I wanted to move and go to college here in England, so when I was 18 I quit school (it was very satisfying), packed a suitcase and moved over here. After some very impressive convincing tactics, I should add. I had a pro- and cons list to present to my parents, and everything! Very well prepared ^^

Because I was tagged a while ago and everyone who wants to do this will already have done it, I won’t tag anyone. If you haven’t done this yet but would like to please go ahead – consider yourself tagged πŸ™‚
